| Proverbs 18:21 Death and life lie in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. ------------ Have been reading blogs and came across a frequently used word. So i decided to look up dictionary.com... this is directly copied and pasted from there... so please read on... damn (dm) Pronunciation Key v. damned, damnĀ·ing, damns v. tr. To pronounce an adverse judgment upon. See Synonyms at condemn. To bring about the failure of; ruin. To condemn as harmful, illegal, or immoral: a cleric who damned gambling and strong drink. To condemn to everlasting punishment or a similar fate; doom. To swear at. -------------- I don't think anyone of us want to condemn or pronounce an adverse judgment on something/someone, yah? Let's glorify the Lord by not using the wrong language in our writings... Let's rem the Lord's admonition in James 3:10-12 "10Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. 11Can both fresh water and salt[a] water flow from the same spring? 12My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water." Yup... even if we are REALLY frustrated.. can we desist? bearing in mind the Lord is listening... Anyway... you can read the Word of God for yourself, and obey... i need not say more... Let's not go along with the flow and culture of the world... instead, not be conformed to its mold... May all of us Arise in the Lord and raise a Godly standard... |
